what am I gonna do now?

So, since Kelly was out of town for the better part of the last two weeks, I've been re-reading the Harry Potter series. I bought the 7th book the day it came out, but decided to refresh my memory. I'm so glad I did! I can't believe how many key things I'd completely forgotten!

Anyway, I finished the last book last night at midnight. I am kind of sad that
I won't be reading about anymore of Harry's adventures, but I loved the last book. I know I'm probably the last person out there to finish, but I'm glad I did it the way I did, everything fresh in my mind! Now, I guess I'll have to jump on the bandwagon and start reading the "Twilight" series. Until I get my hands on those books at least I can look forward to some earlier nights to bed!

I know this was kind of a pointless post, but at least it's new :)

Bronson's 1st Birthday Luau

Summer Fun

This is what we've been doing with most of our free time this summer. After two years of going to boat shows and looking for the right boat for our family, we finally got this beauty the beginning of June.
Growing up near Lake Powell (in my opinion, the best lake on earth!), we spent a lot of time there during the summers. These are some of the happiest memories of my childhood; running down the sand dunes into the water, burning our feet climbing the cliffs to jump into the water, skinny dipping, learning to water ski, watching my grandpa water ski in blue jeans, getting to eat junk food, sleeping in the back of the truck for the ride home. Everything about that place brings happy memories to mind! Mostly of my family spending TIME together!

So, Kelly and I wanted those memories for our family too. We've been able to take lots of friends and family out for fun. We went to Costco and bought a huge 3-man tube, the kids like that. We've also added 3 wake boards and a wake surf board to our little collection of toys. Kelly is getting pretty good at boarding, while the kids and I are still pretty chicken!
I've also been pleasantly surprised at how early Kelly can be home from work on those rare, hot days. I think, for our family, a boat has been money well-spent. Even when we are all at home, we are so busy doing our own things that we rarely spend time together. So, having a boat forces us to get out and actually be together! I'm grateful for these memories we are making with each other and our kids!

The Grand Tetons

The First Time

Okay, so I'm trying out this whole blogging thing. Thanks to my friend Jodi for coming over and literally walking me through the whole process! I'm a self-proclaimed tech-idiot! I have several good friends who have blogs and I check them religiously. So, I thought to myself, "this would be a great way for our family and friends near and far to keep in touch with us."

I also think a blog is a good way to journal, since Heaven knows I'm not that great about writing it down in a book. So, here's to the first entry. Hopefully I'll figure this out with time and I'll be as addicted as everyone else.

So far, I've had the most fun looking at music for my playlist. How awesome is that website?? I also want to encourage my friends and family who don't already have a blog to start one.
